About the Recipe

This is the most simplest and easiest sourdough bread that you can prepare at home. You don't need to be a pro at baking or making breads, its that easy! So lets begin with our classic and yet simple to follow instructions in creating this beauty.

  • 3 cups of bread flour or all-purpose flour

  • 2 tsp of sugar

  • 1 ½ tsp of regular salt

  • ¾ tsp of instant yeast or active dry yeast

  • 1 ¼ cup of lukewarm water

  • Salted butter for serving the bread

Step 1: In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt and yeast


Step 2: Add lukewarm water to the dry ingredients and mix well to form an uneven dough.


Step 3: Cover the bowl with a plastic cling wrap and place it in a warm place to rise for about 2 hours


Step 4: Remove the plastic wrap from the dough and knead for 5 minutes tucking the sides inside making it a smooth ball like dough


Step 5: Place the dough in a flour dusted bowl and let it sit for 30 minutes. The dough will double in size.


Step 6:Pre heat the oven at 450 degree fahrenheit or 230 degree Celsius 


Step 7:  Transfer the dough to a baking pan or a dutch oven. Make a cut at the top of the dough, allowing it to expand with the heat.


Step 8: Reduce the oven temperature to 400 degree Fahrenheit or 230 degree celsius for baking. Now bake it for 30 minutes, bake it for few more minutes if you want it more brown and crisper.


Step 9: Let the cool in a cooling rack and serve with some salted butter and ENJOY!!!!!
